Since 1999, Mr and Mrs Wenzel, now trustees, have been very active in supporting the first school project in Mehsana (Gujarat, India). This is the St Xavier School in Mehsana, which had only 120 pupils in 1999 and is now counting over 1450. In Mehsana, the main contribution was to extend the school building with new classes.

In 2015, a second school project, St Xavier School in Himatnagar (India), was supported. Here, the so-called ‘tribal girls’, girls belonging to tribes, were given the opportunity to receive an education and also find accommodation in the hostel at the school.

​

By the time the foundation was established, the founders, with the help of other donors, had supported the schools with a total of €400,000, thus enabling these institutions to grow in terms of the number of pupils and teachers.

 

The foundation will continue to focus on these two school projects, but also on other institutions in the state of Gujarat, in particular the Virampur Mission (Catholic Ashram Palanpur).

The founders have also been active for years with two projects in Italy, IL VOLO and WELCOMED. The foundation will now be involved also in these two activities if required.

Il VOLO (www.ilvolo.com) is an institution helping young people with psychiatric problems, especially personality disorders, to overcome their problems and to be reintegrated into the community.

​

WELCOMED (www.centrowelcomed.it) consists of many outpatient clinics that offer various medical services to patients who cannot afford to see a specialist; it mainly supports children and young people who have problems at school and in dealing with their neighbours.
